John Heard on TRAFFIC

In John Heard’s term as Commissioner, he has made remarkable progress in getting a handle on Gwinnett’s traffic.

Since being elected to office, John heard has re-ordered priorities and helped get a handle on Gwinnett's traffic.  Gwinnett has:

  • Built new bridges over Highway 316 at Collins Hill Road and Highway 20

  • Four-laned Highway 20 from Buford Highway to Forsyth County

  • Four-laned Highway 20 from Lawrenceville to Grayson

  • Extended Sugarloaf Parkway to Highway 316 (University Parkway)

That's not nearly enough.  Here's what's on the drawing board:

  • Widening and improving Scenic Highway from Snellville to Sugarloaf Parkway

  • Extending Sugarloaf Parkway from Highway 316 to Buford and Sugar Hill

  • Adding ramps and improving the intersection of I-85 and Highway 324 (Spout Springs)

  • Widening Hamilton Mill Road from Hamilton Mill to Buford and Sugar Hill

Keeping up with growth and attracting new businesses and jobs requires keeping a handle on traffic.  We will continue to upgrade and enhance intersections and manage traffic.

John Heard will keep Gwinnett's traffic moving.
