Meet John Heard

As a Chairman in the Georgia House of Representatives, John Heard championed smaller government.  John knows the free market creates jobs, not the government.

John Heard grew up on a farm in Lathemtown, Georgia on the Forsyth, Cherokee County line. He credits his small town, rural upbringing with instilling a work ethic, self-reliance, sensible decision-making, personal responsibility and a deep-rooted sense of family. He attended public schools and later Young Harris College and Southern Technical Institute where he received a degree in Architectural Engineering.

Married for 40 years to Debbie, a graduate of Brenau University, they have two girls, Jill, an attorney and Leigh, a graduate of the University of West Georgia, where her cheer tem won national championships all four years.

John is a practicing architect and heads the Hospitality studio for Phillips Partnership, a large design firm at Perimeter Center.
